BIGELOW HOLLOW STATE PARK, UNION, CT
FRESH WATER DIVE

Directions from HARTFORD CONNECTICUT

1. Take Interstate 84 East to Exit 73 (Union at Route 190)
2. There will be a small State Highway Garage on the right as you proceed toward Union. Downtown Union has a library, church and cannon.
3. A short distance past Union center there will be a brown colored State Park sign for Bigelow Hollow State Park. Take this right turn onto Route 171.
4. When you pass the end of Bigelow Pond at the bottom of the hill, you will take a left turn into the park area.
5. DO NOT ST0P at the sign that says - Bigelow Pond Boat Launch. GO ALL THE WAY TO THE FAR END OF THE PARK ROAD.
6. You will come to the Mashapaug Pond Boat Launch area. This is also where you will park.
7. Bring wagon or cart to transport gear down path to beach

    Notes:

• It costs $5.00 from Memorial Day to Labor Day Weekend to enter the park.
• The trail to the dive site is at the left side of the boat launch. It will take you about 4 minutes to walk from the parking area to the picnic/dive site.
• Make sure you have the following items:
  • Mask
  • Snorkel
  • Hood
  • Wet Suit
  • Gloves
  • Boots
  • Fins
  • BCD
  • Tanks
  • Regulator
  • Gauges
  • Diver’s Log Book
